Happy Spring Tea - Palais des Thés, Thé du Hammam

Happy Spring! I know in many parts of the country, there is still snow on the ground and snow in the forecast. But, cheer up, brighter, warmer days are ahead!

Today I am enjoying Thé du Hammam from Palais des Thés.
Description from the site:

One of our most popular teas, this fruity blend is inspired by a Turkish recipe using green teas that evokes the characteristic fragrances used to perfume a hammam (steam bath): roses, green dates, berries and orange flower water. Sprinkled with flower petals in the pure Eastern tradition, its extraordinary fragrance comes from a subtle combination of Chinese green tea and rich, fruity aromas.
The tea blend is very beautiful and different from other blends I have had. The floral and fruit aroma is vibrant and lovely, but not too strong.

I brewed it at 195 degrees F and steeped for 4 minutes. I think it brews a beautiful, bright green cup of tea, perfect for Spring.

As for flavor, it is definitely a fruity green tea with strong hints of berries and roses. There is some astringency from the tea leaves but it is not quite as noticeable as the Fleur de Geisha.  I think there is an almost buttery aftertaste. It is very unusual. I would not repurchase but I am in love with Palais des Thés' lovely tins so I am looking forward to trying other flavors.

For my tea pairing, I made these sweet strawberry shortcake (short-cookie) with Girl Scout Trefoils and greek yogurt. I ordered 15 boxes of Girl Scout cookies so I am constantly trying to find new ways to consume them. What other ways do you consume Girl Scout cookies?

I can't imagine anyone not falling in love with Texas after they see the Hill Country covered in wildflowers. After the rain we have had, this year is predicted to be spectacular for flower viewing.

Have a lovely weekend!
