Roses and Lavender: Valentine's Day Tea

Happy Valentine's Day (eve)!

Today's tea is Lavender Sencha from Ito En. I paired it with rose+pistachio and raspberry macarons from Bakery Lorraine. If you are still looking for a gift for that special someone... I can't recommend macarons and tea enough.

I know it seems like I have been on an Ito En kick recently (I have). I just love all of the teas I have bought from Ito En. They just know how to make a good green tea.

From Ito En:

Hand-picked European lavender perfumes our fine Sencha green tea. Add water, and surrender to its sensory delights.

It does smell amazing! I feel like it would be an amazing lotion or bubble bath. It has hints of mint and lavender, making it very relaxing.

The tea itself tastes wonderful! Green with a calming mint taste. The sencha is slightly overwhelmed by the mint and floral tones. This does not bother me. If I want green tea, I drink the house sencha. The aroma of lavender wafts around the cup and the heat from the tea cup warms my hands. Holding onto this cup for awhile easily lulls me to sleep. I think I have said this before but I really do not like chamomile. If you are in the same boat and want a relaxing tea before bed that is not chamomile, then this is it.

I highly recommend it as a gift and also for yourself.

Happy Sips!
