Ringing in the New Year with Yoku Moku Biscuits and Jasmine Tea

Happy New Year! I know everyone says this (but it is true), I can't believe how quickly 2014 ended! Time does fly (even when you are not having fun)!
My sister bought me this cup for Christmas. Isn't is sweet? It has Christmas colors too!
My family usually has a fairly sedate New Year. My mom loves the fireworks but they are illegal within city limits now so we are relegated to watching them on TV or drive far out. We also very rarely have champagne. Now that we can legally have alcohol, we still don't drink. I just don't like the way it tastes frankly. I will occasionally have champagne at a wedding or champagne before a very fancy tea, but generally do not consume alcohol. I prefer tea, always.

014 Yoku Moku Tins. I also love the Neiman Marcus chocolate chip cookies and popcorn.

I have been indulging on these Yoku Moku biscuits. My whole family loves these biscuits so I make sure to buy them for them for Christmas. Last year, the special holiday tins sold out before the holidays ended, but this year I still see them offered online. The cookies are the same as the ones they offer year round in their cinq delices but they are covered in these holiday themed pouches.

I love unwrapping each buttery biscuit and nibbling on them with my tea. They are absolutely perfect as tea accompaniments because they are light and not overwhelmingly sweet. Today I am drinking jasmine silver needle from Bellocq Tea. I have reviewed it in the past so I will not comment on it here. I am trying to drink up all the tea I purchased last year before I commit to buying more teas. Seriously, someone help me drink all this tea!

I am looking forward to 2015. As my boss says, "this will be a critical year for us." Working in science is hard but I enjoy my work so hopefully 2015 will produce some novel findings resulting in spectacular papers. Best wishes to everyone for a healthy and very happy New Year!

Thank you for reading!
